Celebrating Dr. Jun's Outreach Eye Care
In July 2017, Dr. Cynthia Jun served with her church in remote villages outside Lima, Peru, and cared for more than 100 patients! We're proud of you, Dr. Jun!
Congratulations to Laurel
At Center for Total Eye Care, we are constantly seeking out ways to best serve our patients. One way we ensure your care is modern and effective is by continuing our education. Most recently, Laurel, one of our highly trained staff, has taken her technician skills to the next level by training and earning her certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant. We are so proud of you, Laurel! Thanks for helping us make Center for Total Eye Care what it is today.
A Ball to Benefit Local Family Birthplace
A healthy community is at the core of what we do. That's why our doctors and staff are excited to sponsor a table at the 58th annual Carroll Hospital Auxiliary Ball. All funds raised from sponsorships and donations go towards the Auxiliary's current passion project: the renovation, expansion, and introduction of the Couplet Care program in the Family Birthplace.
Carroll Hospital will be the first in the state and second in the nation to offer couplet care, designed to provide a higher level of attention to infants in need of special care and their families.

10/1/15 - The Newest Addition To Our Eye Care TeamAs of September 1, 2015, medically trained optometrist Dr. Christine Luzuriaga officially joined Center for Total Eye Care’s growing team of eye care professionals.
Dr. Luzuriaga earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Clemson University in South Carolina, where she graduated cum laude. She received her Doctorate of Optometry and Masters of Science in Vision Sciences from New England College of Optometry in Massachusetts before making her way to Maryland to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Luzuriaga,” says Center for Total Eye Care eye surgeon Dr. Robert Friedman. “She’s an exceptional doctor and fits in well with our team here.”
Dr. Friedman’s colleague, eye surgeon Dr. Wayne Barber, states that Luzuriaga provides comprehensive optometry. This includes but is not limited to routine eye exams, contact lens and glasses fittings, low vision therapy, pre- and post-operative eye care, and diagnosis and treatment of a variety of eye conditions. “With her aboard,” says Dr. Barber, “our patients have access to not one but two medically trained optometrists.”
Dr. Luzuriaga, who has been in practice for five years, loves what she does. “I enjoy the relationships I have developed with patients and always strive to stay atop of current literature to provide the best possible care,” she says. “I’m very glad to be joining a like-minded team of eye care professionals who are known for their innovative and personalized care.”
